PSYCOACH kicks off: 1st Transnational Meeting in Caldas da Rainha (Portugal)

On 30 June and 1 July 2023, Caldas da Rainha (Portugal) hosted the first transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ Sport PSYCOACH project — the official kick-off where the four European partners set the roadmap for the next 24 months of work.

Hosting organisation and coordination

As hosting organisation, Sporting Clube das Caldas (SCC), the project leader, welcomed the meeting at the training room of the Parish Council of Caldas da Rainha. Participants included Antónia Correia and Joana Machado (SCC), Spartaco Grieco (MSV, Italy), Irene Montejano (Universidad Isabel I), and from Psicosport / 6tma Francisco “Paco” Díaz, Luis Mirón and Jaume Martí (manager).

What the kick-off delivered

  • Friday 30: welcome at the training room, presentation of each partner and of the people involved in the project. Institutional dinner with the SCC board and club coaches.
  • Saturday 1: project idea and plan, presentation of the course contents and operations (UI1), administrative management (SCC), quality management (MSV), risk management (Psicosport) and impact management (UI1). In the afternoon: dissemination and communication strategy, course guidelines, next steps, deliverables and award of attendance certificates.

Closing with a Portuguese flavour

The programme closed with a guided visit to the SCC Raúl Jardim Graça pavilion, the town of Caldas da Rainha and the medieval village of Óbidos, where the team raised a glass of the traditional local ginja. A working day that strengthened trust and coordination among the four partners.

Next steps

Next transnational meeting scheduled in Bari (Italy) for March 2024.
