HEARTletics kicks off local work in Spain: 60 children in vulnerable situations

During August 2026, 6tma Associació — Psicosport has launched the local implementation phase of the Erasmus+ Sport project HEARTletics in Spain — the stage where the methodology designed over the past year is tested with real children.

The figures at a glance

• Age range: 8-12 years (most participants around 9-10)
• Group profile: children referred by social services — most of them in situations or at risk of vulnerability due to migration or social disadvantage

Our approach

HEARTletics is not about training better athletes. It is about ensuring that every child can experience competence, belonging and autonomy through sport — even, and especially, when the starting point is an accumulated history of failure, exclusion or insecurity. In these contexts, motivation is not the starting point: it is the consequence of feeling capable.

What comes next

Between September and November we will organise a local conference with families, educators and territorial stakeholders to share the learnings. All the experience gathered in these weeks will feed the final version of the HEARTletics Toolkit, planned for January 2027.
